Parchment in "Three Faiths"

Curator Karen Gorst of the new exhibit in the New York Public Library - Three Faiths: Judaism, Christianity, Islam - asked Jesse to supply some of his expertise and materials to put on display. So, Jesse built a traditional stretching frame and scraping blade and brought them down to the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, where they are on display from October 22 to February 27, 2011. The exhibit also contains video footage of the traditional methods that were employed to prepare the writing surfaces each religion utilized, which Jesse is also featured in.

We encourage everyone and anyone to visit this incredible exhibit to see the beautiful manuscripts, books, and illuminations in the Library's collection. Among the most notable works on display are a Guttenberg Bible, a 13th-century Torah, and the first English-language Quran.
