Goatskin, a longtime favorite of bookbinders, furniture panellers, and interior designers, features pronounced grain patterns that lend it unique gradation, color, and character. Goatskins are available with a calligraphy-ready finish on one or both sides, or with a standard unfinished surface for binding or interior and furniture applications. Colors include natural, white, and cream, as well as standard or custom dyes.
The 7-8 sf. size yields a rectangular piece of parchment 17" across the spine by 20" down the spine. Skins average .3-.4 mm (1 ounce) in thickness.
