Parchment has been in use for thousands of years, however most of today's artists and creators simply haven't had access to explore and connect with the medium.
Leather, too, is a material that has been around for millennia, yet today most material is either cheap, low-quality, and generic, or else expensive and for very specific applications. This shop is dedicated to getting material into your hands. Some of the parchment and leather products in this shop come with access to our educational parchment documentation so that you can learn about, create, investigate and fabricate with these historic mediums with guidance and without fear.
This kit covers Parchment 101. It comes with four (4) labelled 5x7 Parchment Cut Sheets. One (1) Deer, one (1) Sheep, one (1) Goat and one (1) Calf. As well as 1/3 of a pound of Parchment scraps and unlimited access to our online educational hub. This Educational kit is perfect for anyone who wants to explore parchment. Whether you are new to the material and want to learn about the classic characteristics of the different grain types, or for artists and makers who want to find out what Parchment you like working with the best before picking the perfect skins for your project. No matter who you are; this kit has you and parchment, covered.

Scraps are back! These cuts are what is left over after we make our Parchment cut sheets, custom samples and drum heads. Perfect for testing out new techniques, executing repairs, creating small crafts or just having fun. These scraps packs are not sorted in to animal or prep type and contain around 1/3 of a pound of scraps. You can request Undyed or a Mix of Dyed and Undyed Scrap.

These bundles are perfect for the maker who wants to start working with artisanal Veg Tanned Goat leather. Since these bundles come in multiple sizes and color types, it's easy to test out new patterns or techniques without breaking the bank. All of these hides are beautiful examples of veg tanning and are the result of color trials or custom orders.
While we can NOT promise colors, if you leave some colors you like and/or some you despise in the “Additional Notes” section of your order, we will do our best to accommodate you.

For the first time we are offering our educational document with five (5) whole parchment skins. This kit includes five undyed and unprepared skins of varying goat, kid and calf. Material equates to over 20 square feet in total.
For a limited time each order comes with Parchment mix dyed and natural scrap sleeve for added exploration.
This roll contains four, 12 x 18 veg tanned leather panels. Already split too. 2-.4 mm thick, hot rolled and available in several colors this collection is perfect for Crafting, Bookbinding, Repair, Stenciling and for exploring the material. Quantities are limited.
In an effort to increase education and eliminate waste; the majority of material available in the education shop is either our “second quality material” or material left over after a custom project.
What is second quality material? Second quality means they have one or two character markings that are prominent while still being perfectly usable.
