These amazing USA veg tanned goat hides are either black or blue; we really can’t tell.  It changes depending on the light it is in or who you ask. But I do know they are perfect for the maker who is feeling a little overwhelmed by the current leather industry and just wants quality leather, responsibly made, at a fair price.  

Not only do you have a pick of bundle sizes —two, four and six hides—  but you can also customize the finish depending on what you need. 

Choice between: 

As Is—The hides are tanned dyed and with no finish the possibilities are endless.

Soft and shiny—We will mill the hide for extra softness and then send it through our hot roll machine to give it shine.

Pebbly with a slight shine— We will mill the hide for extra softness and then send it through our hot roll machine to give it shine, then we mill it again to bring out the pebbly character of the grain. 

All hides are around 3-4 oz and are biproducts of the American meat and dairy industry and are vegetable tanned by hand at our family tannery in the Hudson Valley of NY. We are proud to never use chromium in our tanning.
